%X The aim of this study is test the Spectral Feature Depth Vegetation Index SFDVI developed to integrate the Red Egde band with the red band to investigate vegetation behavior by means the spectral feature depth. For this, we used a RapidEye Ortho Level 3A scene to test this spectral vegetation index and compare, by means quick_diff_stats function, with the NDVI and RENDVI. The NDVI results is bigger than RENDVI and SFDVI. The SFDVI show more gradations in the dense vegetation better than the other methods. New studies will be encouraged to test the potentialities of the new spectral vegetation index.
